Auto Glass Repair FAQ
Your questions answered, so you know exactly what to expect before calling or booking.
Still have a question?
How long does auto glass repair or replacement take?
- Windshield chip repair: typically 30–45 minutes
- Windshield replacement: usually 30–90 minutes, depending on vehicle model
- Side or rear window replacement: generally 30–60 minutes
- Sunroof/moonroof glass: most jobs completed in under an hour
Can my cracked windshield be repaired instead of replaced?
Repair is often possible if the damage is:
- No longer than 2–6 inches (~6 cm)
- Not in the driver’s main line of sight
- Not near the edge of the glass
- A single crack or chip , not a spidered network of cracks
If it meets those criteria, we can fix it quickly—but if not, we recommend full replacement.
Is it safe to drive with a cracked windshield?
Driving with a damaged windshield can be risky:
- Cracks reduce structural integrity and may fail in an accident
- It may be illegal to drive, depending on local regulations
- Even small cracks can grow from stress or heat
We recommend repair or replacement ASAP , often same-day.
What types of damage do you repair?
We fix:
- Rock chips
- Star breaks
- Small cracks (under 6″)
- Quarter-sized chips (all depending on location & severity)
Do you offer mobile service?
Yes! We offer fully-equipped mobile service at no extra cost (for most services). Jobs are completed just as thoroughly as in-shop.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, we schedule repairs and replacements ahead of time to manage inventory and timing. Walk-ins are welcomed but subject to availability.
Do you service all types of glass?
Yes, we service windshields, side windows, rear glass, and sunroofs on personal vehicles only. We do not work on RVs, commercials, or heavy machinery.
Can the repair be invisible?
No, repaired spots may still be slightly visible, but structural integrity and auto-inspection safety are restored. Full clarity may require a replacement.
Will ADAS (camera) systems work after windshield replacement?
If your vehicle has safety systems (like lane-keep assist or collision warning), we will perform ADAS calibration after replacement. Without calibration, these systems may not function properly. We ensure full safety compliance.
Do you accept insurance?
Absolutely. We work with most major insurance providers and can handle the claim for you.
Many comprehensive policies have $0 deductible for repairs . If repair costs less than your deductible, we’ll give a fair out-of-pocket estimate instead.
Can I pay out of pocket?
Yes, we accept credit/debit cards or personal payment. No surprise costs, we quote upfront.
What info should I have before booking?
To speed things up, please prepare:
- Year, make, and model of your vehicle
- Which window is damaged
- VIN (especially important for newer cars or ADAS)
- Service location (home or shop visit)
Can I do the repair myself?
DIY kits exist, but they often lead to low-quality results and may make the damage worse. We recommend professional repair to ensure safety and warranty coverage.
What if cracks spread after repair?
If a crack unexpectedly spreads during repair, we’ll refund your payment or apply it towards a replacement.
How soon can I drive after service?
- Windshield replacement: normally 30 minutes after adhesive sets , avoid high-pressure car washes for 24–48 hours
- Repair jobs: the next day is safe , we’ll give full care instructions
Do you offer any warranty?
Yes , all installations come with a lifetime leak- and workmanship warranty while you own the vehicle.
